Busy 2017 Performance Season Off to a Roaring Start
MCV has had a busy Spring performance season so far and many exciting performances to come! We marched in the Manchester, NH St. Patriots Day Parade on March 26th and then turned our attention to the Patriots Day events: Bedford and Concord ceremonies the weekend before the holiday, followed by our return to the Lincoln Salute on April 16th and Patriots Day parades in Concord and Lexington on April 17th.
In the midst of all of this, MCV had the good fortune to be invited to record the John Williams score for “The Patriot” with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Eight current and alumni members of the fife section recorded at Boston Symphony Hall on April 10th. The “Tribute to John Williams” CD will be released later this year.
Our next performance will be in the Arlington, MA Patriots Day Parade on Sunday, April 23rd. Stay tuned for updated on our many May gigs and info on our incredibly busy June!

We then changed into our summer uniform and marched in a 4th of July parade in Wakefield, Mass for seemingly record breaking crowds along the parade route.
Successful Campaign to Colonial Williamsburg
MCV had a successful tour to Colonial Williamsburg. MCV and the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes & Drums (senior and alumni corps) entertained a sold out house at the Kimball Theatre on May 20th. Renowned Drum Major John C. Moon (Ret.) was the Master of Ceremonies for this annual concert. On Saturday, May 21st MCV participated in a full day of events as part of Drummers Call: a Grand March (marred by heavy rain), an indoor live-streamed concert that took the place of the rained out fife & drum muster and an evening Tattoo and Torchlit parade through the Revolutionary City. We once again wish to thank Colonial Williamsburg Fifes & Drums for the invite to their prestigious event.
